Aaron Judge Sparks Magic in the Bronx

When the Yankees went down 2-0 in the ALDS against the reigning American League champions, Cleveland Indians, in a 5 game series, there was almost zero chance of the Yankees advancing. The Yankees went home to Yankee Stadium and won 2 games in part to their stellar pitching and timely hitting. In the Game 5 tie-breaker at a hostile Progressive Field, Yankees’ stud shortstop, Didi Gregorius, carried them to victory with 2 game-changing homers. The Yankees made a comeback and the Indians blew another playoff lead ending their playoff run for the third consecutive year. New York clinched an ALCS berth for a date with the AL West champions: the Houston Astros.

Now in the ALCS, the Yankees have found themselves in a similar situation as last round - losing the first two games to the Astros on the road in heartbreaking fashion. The Yankees scored only two runs combined and surrendered a walk-off in Game 2; the Yanks looked lifeless. When game three came around in New York there was a buzz around the city. The Yankees were poised for another comeback and the fans believed they could do it. The Yankees then dominated the Astros with an all-around 8-1 victory. A great six-inning performance by their veteran pitcher, CC Sabathia, got the ball rolling followed by three homers by Todd Frazier and the home run derby champ, Aaron Judge, secured the Yanks the W. The Bronx Bombers rallied for the win in game 4 tonight and social media almost exploded when Judge hit another homer leading to a 4-3 Yankees victory.

Can the Yankees finish the comeback in the 7-game series? Game 5 will be a great pitchers duel at Minute Maid Park between the Yankees’ Tanaka and the Astros’ Keuchel. Will the Yankees win the series bring home their 28th MLB World Series championship? Only the stars will tell.
