Oregon Extends Taggart's Contract

Amid rumors that Willie Taggart might leave his head coach job at Oregon for an FSU buyout, Oregon has decided to extend Taggart's contract. If FSU's Jimbo Fisher does decide to leave, one of the top candidates would be Taggart. A buyout from FSU would cost them $4.5 million dollars, not nearly as much as Taggart is worth the Ducks. Taggart is known for transforming football teams such as South Florida and Western Kentucky. With Oregon, he turned their 4-8 record into 6-1 (with Justin Herbert). Oregon and Taggart agreed to a 1 year, $4 million dollar contract making Taggart's contract worth over $20 million over the next 5 years.
